Oxford Radio's Last Day

Miami University Broadcasting's last minute

Audio file:
Midnight, February 28, 2009

After 59 years in the public's Interest, Convenience, and Necessity,
John Hingsbergen signs Miami University off the air.

Dear Friends,

WMUB is to be melded with Cincinnati Public Radio.

The staff will be retained only until the end of June.  It’s the end of the station although Miami will retain the license. Programming will originate in Cincinnati.    Sad news.

This comes about ten days from the station’s 59th anniversary. February 1, 1950 was the first license.

There were good times, now only good memories.
